COVID 19 & Hospitality
The covid crisis and the implementation of almost general confinement across the entire planet have flattened our entire economy. This unprecedented situation propels the hotel industry into a hibernation of several months. A large majority of customers of this hotel are international. As long as it is not possible to travel between different continents, hotels will remain in great economic difficulty. Even when travel resumes, it will be difficult for companies to organize events in ostentatious luxury settings while at the same time a wave of layoffs will take place for months.
The luxury hotel industry must reposition itself and reflect on a quest for meaning because its customers are questioning themselves, questioning their mode of consumption and some will begin to desert these luxury places to stay in more discreet addresses. The hotel industry must take advantage of this period to question itself and give meaning to its service. This will involve a reorganization of its services, the revaluation of service professions, ecological awareness and common sense, and a new humanist economic model. Gone are the days of hearing “change everything without changing anything”! It’s time for repositioning and action!
And tomorrow?
This period invites us to review our way of living, of consuming, of moving from a view of conqueror of the Earth to a view with much more humility and respect for the Earth. Nature does not need us but we need it. We need to build a new world, and far from being a mere utopia, there is a real opportunity to do things differently and better.
French luxury hotels must become a new global benchmark for sustainable and innovative business and leisure tourism. It is necessary to find a balance between the preservation of ecosystems and economic realities. It’s far from obvious and the whole point is to recreate the connection.

That is often how an idea enters a house, and then its habits.
What you say about it matters more than what I say.
A keynote, a mission, an article in the magazine: if my work has been useful to you, a few lines on Google are worth more than any argument.
