Generous hospitality ®

Generous hospitality® is the founding concept created by Laurent Delporte, founder of DELPORTE HOSPITALITY, and the key to the success of visionary companies. Improving welcome and service quality, for guests and employees alike, has become a strategic priority, driven by a humanist and responsible vision of the company.

Corporate hospitality is a powerful vector of transformation. It creates memorable guest experiences, improves management and employee well-being, and optimises service quality. It builds an attractive, distinctive brand while strengthening the company’s positive impact on its environment. This is why I speak of “generous” hospitality.

My method, forged in the field of luxury hospitality, at Accor and then as International Brand Manager at Sofitel, combines multidisciplinary strategic expertise, a taste for the field and proven skills in management and training, to fully reveal the spirit of a brand.

Generous hospitality® is the harmonious interaction of three pillars: the sense of place, which reveals the identity and story of a setting; the human connection, carried by the sincerity and attentiveness of the teams; and the guest’s well-being, which goes beyond satisfaction to restore and uplift every person welcomed. These three pillars, in service of the guest experience, the employee experience and the brand image, form the method I developed within DELPORTE HOSPITALITY and that I pass on today to the companies that make hospitality a competitive advantage.

From audit to hospitality strategy, through training and coaching, I intervene at every stage to reveal the hospitable potential of each company: in hotels as well as healthcare, retail, banking or real estate.

What are the benefits of generous hospitality®?

Corporate hospitality acts on the whole value chain: the guest experience, the employee experience, profitability, innovation, brand image and social responsibility.

01

Improve the guest experience

Creating memorable experiences by making sure every interaction is positive: a stronger brand image, more loyalty and revenue. From a care centre to a hotel, anticipating every step of the guest journey.

Audit
02

Optimise the employee experience

Improving management, working conditions and team well-being. Often, the first mission is to raise awareness of how the company welcomes, before deploying strategy and training.

Training
03

Increase profitability

Optimising service quality, generating additional revenue and reducing costs through more efficient use of resources. The better you know your guests, the more new services you can offer them.

Hospitality, and beyond

Born in the world of palaces and five-star hotels, generous hospitality® has kept their spirit, that of French-style luxury: I have turned it into a method, transposable to any organisation and any sector that welcomes, for its guests as much as its employees.

Three stages, one transformation

Lastingly transforming a culture of welcome requires a method. Mine has three stages: diagnosing the context, defining priorities and strategy, training the teams all the way to autonomy.

STAGE 01

See

Field immersion, audit, mystery guest. I only transform well what I have honestly observed, from the car park to check-out.

STAGE 02

Understand

Candid debrief, a vision shared with leadership, clear priorities. Strategy before recipes.

STAGE 03

Pass on

Training teams, coaching managers, anchoring rituals. The culture takes hold when it becomes autonomous, without outside support.

Frequently asked questions

Who created the concept of generous hospitality®?

Generous hospitality® is a concept created and registered by Laurent Delporte, founder of DELPORTE HOSPITALITY. He forged the method in the field of luxury hospitality, at Accor and then as International Brand Manager at Sofitel, before formalising it into three pillars: the sense of place, the human connection and the guest’s well-being. Laurent Delporte is today recognised among the 8 best hospitality experts in the world (Global Hospitality Magazine / International Hospitality International, 2024) and features in the Top Luxury Speakers of the World (World Luxury Chamber of Commerce, 2025).

What is generous hospitality®?

Generous hospitality® is a vision of welcome championed by Laurent Delporte: welcoming is not a function, it is an intention. The quality of a welcome comes not from processes but from a shared culture, where every employee feels considered and in turn considers the guest.

Does generous hospitality® apply beyond hotels?

Yes. Born in the palaces, it applies wherever an organisation welcomes human beings: healthcare, retail, banking, real estate, culture, events. The codes of the great establishments then become a competitive advantage.

What is the difference between guest experience and employee experience?

They are two sides of the same coin: a team cannot give what it does not receive. Internal hospitality is the first lever of the quality of service delivered to the guest.

How do you transform an organisation’s culture of welcome?

In three stages: seeing the field (immersion, audit, mystery guest), understanding with leadership (debrief, clear priorities), then passing on to the teams (training, coaching, anchoring rituals) all the way to autonomy.

The best of hospitality, every month.
