The selection of hospitality products to accompany guests’ stay in a hotel is essential. The interior designer should even participate in the selection of products to ensure their perfect integration into the decor he has proposed for the bathroom. The shampoo, shower gel and soap themselves become decorative objects that contribute to the luxurious universe of the hotel. They must inspire, make people dream and above all arouse the desire to consume.
I hate being in a hotel where the welcome products don't seem to be of quality. I have even found welcome products in the name of the hotel in some 5-star hotels. The role and know-how of a hotel is to welcome, to offer a catering offer, to prepare the room. It is not about making soap and shower gel. This is not a guarantee of quality. When you see a famous cosmetics brand that makes a shampoo or shower gel, it inspires more trust than seeing the name of a hotel instead. Everyone has their own expertise and it is preferable, in my opinion, for a hotel to surround itself with a renowned brand to offer its customers a quality product rather than putting its logo on a bottle whose product comes from an assembler.
I often meet hoteliers who do not know what is in the products and the moment they become aware of it, they discover, for example, the presence of silicone which completely opposes their sustainable development policy. And yes, when you closely analyze a situation you very quickly realize its consequences on other subjects. Beware of the sometimes harmful products that are used in hospitality products and favor natural products.
Customers are very careful about what they put on their skin, especially women. Many of them, for example, bring their own products during their stay at the hotel for fear of not appreciating the level of quality of the products. It’s even a source of stress.
When the product is a dream, the customer will also want to take it home to share with those around them or to continue part of the experience of their hotel stay at home. This is a significant element in a customer’s loyalty to a hotel. I often hear customers who tell me “I like these hotels and I love their welcome products”.
Luxury hotels are quite generous in providing hygiene products even if the trend is downward. In the past, there was shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel near the bathtub and in the shower. Today, it’s one or the other and very often in the shower only. You also have a soap located near the sink. Most cosmetic brands offer a single fragrance for the hotel industry that you find in shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap.
