The way we think about the post-covid world will never be the same
For a great many people, the way they think about the post-covid world will never be quite the same. Will that be true for a majority of people, or only for a smaller number? The future will tell, but in the end, it does not really change anything.
Today, there is a real number of people from all four corners of the earth who want to change this world and return to authenticity, to reason, and to greater respect for our planet. They experience this moment as yet another alarm bell from our planet, one that often reminds us that nature does not need us, and that it is we, humans, who need it. These are the people who will make up tomorrow’s elite, who will lead by example and take the initiative to dismantle what is broken and build, differently, a world that is more protective and more respectful of the planet. A return to common sense is overdue. Yes, the world will change after lockdown, and that will become clear in the years ahead. It will obviously not happen in two months, because it will take years to rebuild a different world and to change all our habits in every area of life (professional, leisure, personal, and so on).
Let’s learn to live together while respecting our environment
The hospitality and tourism sector must take the turn toward naturalness. Every action put in place in a hotel must be carried out with respect for the environment. Many hotels have already made real efforts, often to reduce energy consumption, and let’s be honest, also to cut costs, but the task ahead remains immense. The situation can seem complicated, given how much opinions differ on what actions to take, which is why common sense and simplicity remain the two guiding principles to follow.
This unprecedented period is the moment for hoteliers and their investors to reorganize how the entire hotel functions. This reorganization must cover team management, hotel operations, and major investments as part of upcoming renovations or new builds. In a word, hospitality must reinvent itself and build a new economic model.
With time and real determination, you will reach your goals, if you believe in yourself. Every idea needs time to mature and, above all, to move from an intellectual plane down to a concrete, material one. We are entering this new phase of reflection together. The first step is to put into words every change you wish for in your establishment; there are no limits, and you must do it with your heart, not with your mind, which would probably hold back all your ideas. You know that little voice that tells you “no, that’s not possible” or “you don’t have time”, or any thought that makes you step back. So state clearly what you want, dream even, and put all your energy and conviction into it. Accept, too, that you will need time to reach your goal, and that your actions will not bear fruit in a single day, nor even in 365! Do not doubt yourself, move forward, trust yourself, because you will be tested constantly. Hold on to your vision, and step by step you will reach your goal, and you will feel the long-awaited satisfaction, and probably an inner joy!
Here is a series of articles that, I hope, will accompany you through this period of reflection, and you will always find me by your side to help you transform your organization.
“Every truth passes through three stages: first it is ridiculed, then it meets strong opposition.
Finally, it is regarded as having been self-evident.”
Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

That is often how an idea enters a house, and then its habits.
What you say about it matters more than what I say.
