After graduating from HEC Paris in 2001, he became the Head of development and communication of HEC Entrepreneurs, before going on to join Accor in 2004 to work on the strategic repositioning of the Sofitel brand. At the age of 43, he has accumulated close to 20 years of experience in the world of hotels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A hands-on personality<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Laurent has come to know all the ins and outs of a hotel<\/span><\/strong>. In 2005, Laurent took over as Assistant Director in charge of accommodations and reception at the Sofitel\u00a0Paris\u00a0Porte de S\u00e8vres,<strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\"> placing him at the head of a team of 120 people<\/span><\/strong> and overseeing 20 head service staff. His mission: restructure the management of the hotel and <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\"> improve the service offerings delivered to the client<\/span><\/strong> (quality certification, \u2026). He thus acquired a rich knowledge of the operational functioning and management of the hotel world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2007, Laurent joined the strategic marketing team at Accor,\u00a0contributing to the luxury repositioning of Sofitel hotels around the world. In his role, he oversaw the new standards of service and created, among others, the\u00a0InspiredMeetings\u00a0service offering that would go on to be implemented in over 100 hotels. He participated in the <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\"> renovation of the most prestigious Sofitels,<\/span><\/strong> such as : <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sofitel-legend-thegrand.com\/amsterdam\/en\/index_amsterdam.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Grand Amsterdam<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sofitel.com\/fr\/hotel-5555-sofitel-luxembourg-le-grand-ducal\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Grand Ducal Le Luxembourg<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sofitel.com\/fr\/hotel-6599-sofitel-vienna-stephansdom\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Sofitel Vienne<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sofitel.com\/fr\/hotel-5307-sofitel-cairo-el-gezirah\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Sofitel El Gezirah au Caire<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The meaning of values<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the theme of <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">sustainable development,<\/span><\/strong>, Laurent has been passionate about the issue since his student days, when he would participate in the Nature Summit (\u201cSommet de la nature\u201d) in Fontainebleau, organized by\u00a0the UICN. \u00a0In this context, he contributed as a writer of a guide on good practices to implement within hotels that care about the environment.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cmsdata.iucn.org\/downloads\/iucn_hotel_guide_final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Biodiversity: My hotel in action<\/a><br \/>\nAt Accor, he lay out and ensured the coordination of the sustainable development program for the Sofitel brand.<\/p>\n<h3><strong> The importance of sharing and passing on tradition <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2011, Laurent decided to <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\"> launch a website (www.laurentdelporte.com)<\/span><\/strong> devoted to hotels on which he shares his visions and feedback based on his experience in hotel visits across the world. Since then, Laurent has developed <span style=\"color: #b8860b;\"><strong>an active presence at conferences and a role in consulting in strategy &amp; Innovation<\/strong><\/span>. He advises decision-makers in the sector on the development of their projects or on the enrichment of their strategic vision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Laurent was also <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Scientific Director<\/span><\/strong> at SKEMA Business School in the MSC, International Hospitality Management program and he has lunched the new MSC luxury hotel &amp; innovation.. He regularly lectures at HEC, Sup de luxe&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3><strong> An international vision in the industry\u2019s service<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finally, Laurent has conducted <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\"> over 400 hotel visits around the world<\/span><\/strong>, in order to assist in the quality control of the services offered and help hoteliers become aware of the coming challenges in the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, Laurent brings together and leads an <strong><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">international community of over 75,000 followers<\/span><\/strong>.
