Below Michel Gu\u00e9rard lets us in on his thoughts on the art of welcoming and the F\u00eate de la Gastronomie.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>You were chosen back in 2012 to sponsor \u2018La F\u00eate de la Gastronomie\u2019; what does this festival represent for you? What message did you want to communicate?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have indeed had the honor of sponsoring the first and second \u2018F\u00eate de la Gastronomie.\u2019 The messages that we wanted to support during these two occasions were the importance of terroir (the importance of preserving the memory of culinary region, its recipes, and preventing a certain uniformity from taking place) and handcrafted work (instilling praise for handmade work). This \u2018F\u00eate,\u2019 whose media presence has grown, is a wonderful event that allows us to highlight all those professions that make up French gastronomy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29977\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29977\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29977 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.luxury-hotel-expert.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/grande-cusine-5-512x307.jpg\" alt=\"grande-cusine-5\" width=\"512\" height=\"307\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29977\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michel Gu\u00e9rard, the Michelin-star chef cuisine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What is your definition of the French art of welcoming? In what way is French gastronomy related to this art of welcoming? How do you reinterpret it? \u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Historically, the French art of welcoming and gastronomy are intimately linked because the latter was developed in the time of the monarchy, in the 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup> centuries. The king, as well as some of the Noble houses, used worldly event or simple dinners to show off their might. <strong>Cuisine<\/strong> was thus a way to impress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In my opinion, and to speak from a more contemporary vantage, the French art of welcoming corresponds to an authentic, elegant (and not necessarily luxurious) staging of the home and the table, which also takes account the well-being of the guest while seeing to his comfort.
