{"id":28020,"date":"2016-09-21T12:00:19","date_gmt":"2016-09-21T11:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.luxury-hotel-expert.com\/?p=28020"},"modified":"2025-03-25T10:27:17","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T10:27:17","slug":"edouard-francois-architect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delporte-hospitality.com\/en\/edouard-francois-architect\/","title":{"rendered":"How to design an hotel ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Interview with Edouard Fran\u00e7ois, the architect behind the design of\u00a0Fouquet\u2019s Barri\u00e8re Paris Hotel.<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What inherited expertise have you reinterpreted in your project for the\u00a0Fouquet\u2019s Barri\u00e8re\u00a0Hotel?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At Fouquet\u2019s, we faced an ensemble of seven buildings constructed in both true\u00a0and faux Haussmann-style and a building dating from the 70s that formed a near-complete island in the Triangle of Gold, at the corner of Avenue des Champs-Elys\u00e9es and Avenue Georges V. The Barri\u00e8re Group wanted to unify these\u00a0various elements to produce a seventh Parisian Palace and endow it with a\u00a0strong image.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I took inspiration from several wall tapestries belonging to my family that had\u00a0fascinated me when I was growing up. I remember the discontinuities between\u00a0the lais, the motifs that would be brusquely disrupted. Above all this, several\u00a0portraits of our ancestors were hung up without any seeming link with the motif\u00a0along the wall. This is how I came to invent the \u201ccast-and-punctured\u201d (\u00ab moul\u00e9-trou\u00e9 \u00bb) concept you see at Fouquet\u2019s. We faithfully copied the Haussmann-style\u00a0fa\u00e7ade from the island.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We then applied this to the fa\u00e7ades during the renovation.
