Revealed by the cooking show Top Chef broadcast on M6 in 2012, he is in charge of the hotel\u2019s six restaurants, namely the Table Gastronomique, the Cour Jardin, the Galerie, the Relais Plaza, the Montaigne terrace and the Bar. More recently, at the end of 2020 and during 2021, he has begun several collaborations with the luxury house of\u00a0Dior.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alain Ducasse:\u00a0Reinventing the Codes\u2026<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The maxim\u00a0\u201cChange everything without changing anything\u201d applies perfectly to\u00a0the newest dining room at the Alain Ducasse Restaurant, which plays to the inventive ambition underlying the Plaza Ath\u00e9nee: Once upon a time, it was the Palace of\u00a0Tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The dining room has already been redesigned three times by Patrick Jouin, who\u00a0has inspired numerous designers in his wake. With his first project, he enveloped\u00a0the chandeliers, a trend that spread quickly and was widely imitated around the\u00a0world. Subsequently, he \u201cexploded\u201d the pendant chandelier to create a\u00a0multiplicative effect within the room. This time, he&#8217;s kept his hands off the\u00a0chandeliers\u2014instead, he has imported new elements into the room that further\u00a0highlight their splendor from afar. The new restaurant thus maintains a sense of continuity with its\u00a0preceding designs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In accordance with the air and the movements around the room, the pendants of the\u00a0chandeliers move and produce various effects along the ground and the ceiling.\u00a0The light multiplies to produce a breathtaking effect from the moment you step\u00a0into the room, thanks also in part to the presence of two monumental bells made\u00a0of polished stainless steel. Inspired by service bells, these reflect the crystal\u00a0pendants dangling from the chandeliers on the ceiling, as well as the comings and goings of the service staff, in a way that playfully distorts their silhouettes. It\u00a0reminds me in many ways of this one large exposition held at the Grand Palais, where globes were suspended from the ceiling in such a way that they came to reflect each other in\u00a0curious forms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The room lends itself to various ambiances depending on the time of day. The\u00a0evening gives way to a different set of tableware as well as a different play of\u00a0light in the room. Toward the back of the room, you will also discover a\u00a0magnificent cabinet of curiosities dedicated to the art of the table: tableware. It is\u00a0here that objects in silver, copper, and crystal hold beautiful company together.\u00a0Alain Ducasse has assembled his personal collection of tableware to illustrate\u00a0the French art of welcoming.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But this piece functions as more than just a decorative unit: behind the cabinet,\u00a0you may catch the eye of the restaurant hosts discreetly governing from behind\u00a0to orchestrate the service throughout the dining room.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3497\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3497\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3497 size-large\" title=\"Le restaurant d'Alain Ducasse\" src=\"https:\/\/www.luxury-hotel-expert.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/laurent_delporte_mise_en_place_restaurant-512x374.jpg\" alt=\"laurent_delporte_mise_en_place_restaurant Alain Ducasse\" width=\"512\" height=\"374\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3497\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The art &#8211; Restaurant Alain Ducasse au Plaza Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The new aesthetic of the art of welcoming<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alain Ducasse and Fran\u00e7ois Delahaye have dared to reinterpret all the\u00a0traditional restaurant codes of high-end gastronomy. They have revisited the art of\u00a0welcoming by offering an astonishing and consistent aesthetic. Don\u2019t expect\u00a0tablecloths on the tables when you arrive, whether in the afternoon or evening;\u00a0nor will you find fresh flowers, dish covers, or glasswork. All these things arrive\u00a0over the course of the service; here you will have a personalized table setting\u00a0that corresponds to the dishes being served.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The raw oak of the table only further exalts the tableware and the cuisine of\u00a0Alain Ducasse, transporting his clients to a new era of high-end gastronomy. For\u00a0breakfast, the cabinet of curiosities is closed up, and the tables are laid out with\u00a0tablecloths. The ambiance adopts a more traditional look\u2014a look that changes\u00a0dramatically once the evening arrives. You are plunged further and further toward\u00a0the exterior, toward the light.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is impossible to become bored with this room. There are simply an endless\u00a0variety of things to look at that promise to deliver you to a new realm.
